TASK

One assignment on this subject was to produce a report after a site visit. An academy constructed based on Industrialized Building System al so known as IBS, in short. Given a task by Mr. Chiew, our group of 6 members along with other classmates, have visited a site located at Sekolah Kompleks Darul Kifayah. This structure is constructed based on the IBS.

We have too identified the method of IBS used which is the 'Full Prefabricated Method'. Shaari Jamaiudin Architect (SJA) located at No. 4A, Jalan USJ, 1/33 in Subang Jaya, Selangor, as the architect for the building team. Along with other team members, Juruunding Pakatan Arena as the civil and structure engineer, BR Consult Consulting Engineer as the mechanical and electrical engineer, and Juruukur Bahan H&A as the quantity surveyor, are involved.

This is taken at the site visit day before departing to Taylor's University. 

MY THOUGHTS

I have realized that construction industry is a versatile environment. In this world filled with advanced technology, structures can be built faster within shorter time span as compared to the traditional methods. I believe the technologies in future days can fasten the speed of completion of a structure even further. Although which such technologies, I am afraid that my job (in future) as a quantity surveyor is at stake. Due to the well-equipped software, this profession may be replaced with machines.
